About
StarThreader™ is a boutique, family owned and operated optical equipment company, founded to improve ease and affordability of becoming true scientists of discovery. We begin this venture with a line of easy to use, performance telescopes.
The first in the series, StarThreader 1, is a telescope that offers simple, high-performance views of the cosmos. Whether totally new to astronomy or a pro, the StarThreader 1 telescope will satisfy curiosity and wonder of the vast, largely unexplored universe.
These telescopes are mighty precision optical instruments that harmoniously blend advanced technology with craftsmanship at an affordable price.
Humanity as barely begun exploring this vast universe. Scientists estimate our search for extraterrestrial life as only explored 9.96E-17 percent of the known universe. That's 0.00000000000000009960% of the universe.
If each and every of the ~8.2 billion people on Earth were to explore this much of the universe each year, for A THOUSAND YEARS, even still, we would only survey 0.00082% of the known universe.
There remains so much to be discovered!
Humanity has held a deep sense of connection to the cosmos, the stars, the sun and the moon. So does all of life of Earth. The vast majority of life on Earth requires The Sun's heat and light which plants convert into sugars for food. The moon controls tides and lights the night sky. Birds and insects even use the stars of the celestial heavens for navigation.
And the stars throughout the universe generate the known elements and material that continue to support life and Earth... and even disrupt it at times through asteriod impacts. It's believed that most of Earth's water comes from asteroid impacts. Even water- essential to all known forms of life on Earth- came from space.
